UAN: Hi Alex, Thanks so much for taking the time out to be with us here today at Up All Night Book Blog. We know how busy you are trying to keep Gemma safe. Let’s begin so you can get back to saving Gemma.
UAN: What was it like for you when you first saw Gemma?
Alex: Terrifying. I’d been taught for years and years not to feel everything that I was feeling the second I first saw her.
UAN: Wow…So, were you shocked when she reached out and touched you?
Alex: Kind of. I was shocked, but I also wanted her to touch me, even though I knew it was wrong and everything.
UAN: How did you feel at the party with Gemma for the first time?
Alex: Honestly, I’m not sure. I had this feeling that I was going to end up doing something stupid, so I was worried, afraid, excited. I felt a lot of things I guess.
UAN: How do you feel about Laylen and Aislin’s past?
Alex: Their past is their past. My problem with them being together now is because of what Laylen is. But that’s what I was taught. Now I’m starting to wonder if everything I was taught is wrong.
UAN: Hmmm, that would be difficult…You seemed jealous of Nicholas, what is your history with him like?
Alex: I’m not jealous of him. I can’t stand him. I’ve known him since I was a kid and everything he does, good or bad, is to benefit himself. He doesn’t give a crap about anyone else.
UAN: When you saw Stephan with the Death Walkers what was your first thought?
Alex: Honestly, a lot of stuff started making sense. All the weird things my father taught me and all the secretive stuff he’s done… the dots kind of connected.
UAN: Were you shocked when Gemma said Stephan was the man from her vision?
Alex: Kind of. Again, though, there were things that kind of made sense about it.
UAN: Was Gemma in your dreams the way you were in hers?
Alex: No… well, maybe I had a few of them after I met her again. I think Gemma’s dreams might be more than dreams though.
UAN: You were Gemma’s first everything, first hug, kiss, touch, yet you hardly acknowledge the depth of that, how do you feel about that?
Alex: I’m not sure. I’m not very good with the whole feeling thing. I’ve cared about Gemma since we were little kids, so I’m glad in a way that I was her first everything, but it also makes me sad that it was that far into her life before all her firsts happened. It also scares me because I can be kind of a douche sometimes and I’m afraid I’m going to screw it up.
UAN: Oh, we hope not! Okay, one last question a little more on the lighter side, if you were not trying to save the world right now and could be doing anything, what would you be doing?
Alex: I have no idea. It’s all I’ve been taught since I was a kid. Without the Keepers’ world, I’d feel lost, which I do now that everything is kind of falling apart.
UAN: Well, thank you so much for talking with us today Alex! Now go take care of our girl and keep the world safe!
